ideas for endings to the new story - the box -maybe there was another bar frequenter who was present when the box was dropped off, but when walkin shows up, he's quietly napping on the back-room hammock. He intervenes and takes the case away from the hiding spot without GJ even knowing it. They search the bar and find nothing to JG's suprise. then THe sherif and the autistic girl show up again per the girl's request to simply pay JG a visit in which they inadvertently intervene and stop looming violence. There's an unspoken understanding that Walkin agrees to let JG go.
-for some reason, I can't get the idea of JG interviewing a bunch of wierdos for a bar-tending position. Maybe, his back went lame and he needs the temporary help.
-the bar becomes an attraction when a catholic zealot sees Mary's image on the outside wall.
I would like to explore Terry's past of a baseball player. Perhaps an old teammate of his who became a sports agent and now is writing about his experiences in the league has come to the bar to do an interview with Terry. Terry is ready to be attacked verbally but when his old team-mate starts attacking, verbally, the men that Terry used to play with.
This can be part of the female reporter story, perhaps the woman is the ghost writer for Terry's team-mate. Even though there is a sexual attraction between them, the way he is being put on the spot leaves him very uneasy. Even if the female reporter is also interested it can be a nice dichotomy.
