Meat Loaf & Cher
Here are the beats that we have so far...
Post-karaoke night comes to the bar. They're all dressed as their favorite rock stars...including ZZ Top (flipping their guitars).
Meat Loaf is after Cher. He thinks he just found the love of his life...
But he can't win her over. His approach isn't working.
Cher goes over to be with "glam" Bowie or Buddy Holly or Elvis.
The guy thought he'd be more confident being Meat Loaf.
Goodman tells him to drop the act.
He drops the act...and wins Cher...
...who drops the act...and reveals that she's a guy.
Let's really nail this story. Have fun with it, but make sure it's real. Get into the emotion and the depth of story and character.

First Episode
These are the elements we discussed:
Keep in mind these are just thoughts. You can work from them, bounce things off of each other, and find the best story.
The bartender, a John Goodman type, gets a visit from the repo man.
OR: He gets a tip from a friend (perhaps someone he did time with) that the repo man is on his way.
OR: The repo man is someone Goodman did time with.
Perhaps Goodman gets the repo man drunk.
Goodman just got the money that will allow him to keep the car...when a woman with a 12-year-old boy enters.
The woman is someone from Goodman's past. They had a relationship.
Goodman learns that the boy is his son. Goodman tries to bond with him.
The kid takes out a cigarette and asks Goodman for a light.
The woman offers the kid a light.
Goodman stops her from lighting their kid's cigarette.
Goodman's paternal instincts kick in with the son he never knew he had.
The woman needs money to put their son in rehab.
Goodman doesn't want their kid to turn out like he did.
He wants to help.
He doesn't have that kind of money - and he's on the verge of losing his car.
He says he'll get the money to get the kid some help.
Goodman and his ex switch cars.
She drives off in the one that will be repo'd...and he keeps her car.
